Other Olympic Panties

In a recent post, we told you there were Olympians concerned with things other than taking home a medal in Vancouver. Such as selling their panties (and, no, not their specific undies on-line..) Allison Baver would be one of them.

These pictures are from a shoot for Muscle & Fitness Magazine selling herself in lingerie. And, according to one article, she's using certain types as good luck charms:

U.S. short-track speed skater Allison Baver wears “cute white panties” when she races. The have to be white — with or without lace — and just a little bit sexy.'

Then there's U.S. snowboarder Hannah Teter, literally selling panties (but not until after March 5th - damn those amateur athlete rules).

She's supporting the Haitian relief efforts of Doctors Without Borders by pitching for Sweet Cheeks Panties

Her goal is to move $100,000 of those. That should put a message across..

Blue Monday

A reminder- The new season of Dancing with the Stars begins tonight on ABC (in the U.S.) with a new co-host joining Tom Bergeron: DTWS 7th season winner Brooke Burke. As we've pointed out before, Ms. Burke has had more than a little experience appearing in lingerie, though she'll probably be a bit more demurely attired than when she was a contestant.. or modeling as in the vintage pre-Wild-On days example above. Still works as a Blue Monday for us.

Tezenis as opposed to tennis shoes? As much as it adds to Karolina Babczynska's sporty look, I'd suggest she lose the leggings before they're around her ankles and just sprint in the rest of her lingerie from Italy's Tezenis. Wait a few weeks this Spring and tell me you haven't seen some lovely young lady running in almost as little; they may as well do it in a bra and panties set this classy.

Some Kinds Of Underwear

Religious functions

Undergarments can also have religious significance:

• Judaism. Male Orthodox Jews wear a four-cornered prayer shawl called a tallit katan, which has tzitzit (fringes) attached to the corners, draped over their shoulders. To conform with societal dress codes, a tallit katan is often worn beneath one's shirt, but above an undershirt as it should not come into contact with the skin.
• Mormonism. Most members of the The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints (Mormons) wear special temple garments after they have been endowed in a temple to help them remember the teachings of the temple.
• Sikhism. One of the panj kakaar (five articles of faith) that Sikh men wear is a type of underpants called the kaccha, which are similar to boxer shorts.

Panties

These usually have an elastic waistband, a crotch to cover the genital area which is usually lined with absorbent material such as cotton, and a pair of leg openings which are often also elasticized. They either have very short or no leg sections

Thong

Has a narrow strip of material along the centre of the garment's rear which sits between the wearer's buttocks and connects the front or pouch to the waistband behind the wearer. Thongs are sometimes worn to reduce "panty lines" when wearing tightly-fitting trousers.

Brassiere

Usually consists of two cups for the breasts, a centre panel (gore), a band running around the torso under the bust, and a shoulder strap for each side.
